Andrew Webb

Andrew is in his junior year at the School of Management at Boston University. Along with pursuing a business degree, he has been playing Rugby for 6 years and is the starting Scrumhalf for Boston University Men’s Rugby Football Club.

Rugby has been a passion of Andrew’s since he started playing in his sophomore year of high school. During his senior year, he helped direct his high school team to its first New England Championship and a berth in the Regional Tournament. He them came to Boston University to further his rugby career. In his junior year, he assisted the clubs president in scheduling a preseason training camp for the team as well as helped the team win its first fall opening game in ten years.

Andrew also has affection for community service. Attending a catholic high school kick started his reverence for service. With a multitude of opportunities available to him, he took advantage of as many as he could and in his senior year earned the Youth Volunteer of the Year Award in the town of Danvers, MA. At Boston University, he immediately dove into community service again by participating in the First Year Student Outreach Program, which sends groups of incoming students out into the city to do service in different areas of work. As a sophomore, he became a staff leader for the same program and lead a group of 13 freshman to two different worksites.

Two jobs that have been his best learning experiences were working as a dishwasher/busboy at a restaurant and a camp counselor at a summer camp at his high school. Working in a fast-paced industry, such as a restaurant, trains one in quick decision making and problem solving. Being a camp counselor provided some useful experience in dealing with children and a executing in a work environment with high responsibility.

Andrew is a devout Boston area sports fan, attending various games when he can. After college, he hopes to dive into the world or sports. Community relations is an attractive path for him because he likes working with people as well as the work that he could do with the community service foundations of professional sports teams.
