Opassa Corporation Opens

Our friends, family, and management will contribute 25% of the contributed funds that are needed to launch the TrueBeat, while we request that 75% of the contributed funds come from our investors. Friends and family will be holding 30% of ownership in the company, leaving our investors with 70%. The reason we have allocated the ownership in this ratio is because our product is a blue ocean product, with a high level of uncertainty of success[1]. The TrueBeat meets needs that no single device achieves. As mentioned in marketing, the programmable metronome market is dominated by only a few large companies. Being a start-up company in such an environment is a large risk investors must commit to, therefore we believe that a larger percent ownership will convince investors of our commitment to their involvement and the success of our product.

New Autodesk Implementation

The pattern of our total IS costs, at first glance, appears sporadic. Upon further investigation, though, consistency becomes apparent starting in year one. The costs at the beginning of year one include start-up expenses and the initial purchase of the IT infrastructure. Between years one and two our costs drop because only services that we initially purchased during start-up, such as internet and security systems, are used for administrative and overhead purposes. However, by year three costs spike up again because of software upgrades which occur every two to three years. Improvements in technology come rapidly, creating a demand for upgrades in software needed to develop, program, and produce technologically advanced products. This cycle will repeat with the intermediate costs, which increase slowly because of the addition of personnel and hardware correlating with our increase in trial units and expansion of internal operations. In the future, this pattern will continue predictably until we implement a major change in operations which would require us to rethink our IT infrastructure and necessary expenses. Adjustments for inflation were not made.

Conclusion

With advancements in technology made almost every day, it is critical for any organization to constantly analyze and update the IT infrastructure to maintain a competitive edge. For Opassa, information technology will be integrated into every aspect of management, operations, and product development. Information systems will allow for the most efficient way to discover, evaluate and share transformed information throughout the company. Our variety of software licenses purchased yearly will allow us to stay updated on the most relevant and advanced software applicable to our organizational structure.

Quality Assurance Plan Improves

In order to ensure quality, every assembly worker hired will be trained to understand each step of the production process. This will help them better comprehend what materials are used throughout the process, and will also allow for worker rotation so that they never get fatigued. We will encourage participative management and hold weekly meetings where the Operations Manager meets with the Floor Supervisor and Assembly Team to give and receive feedback. These meetings will effectively incorporate worker’s needs into the company’s policies and structure.process viscometer

We have indicated two checkpoints in our process flow where the Operations Manager will inspect a percentage of each batch to guarantee that all of the products were properly produced (see OM Appendix 6: Process Flow Diagram). The first inspection is a visual evaluation and will take place after the molds are cast. The second inspection will occur at the end of the assembly process once the battery has been installed, and will entail powering up the product to ensure that all of the product’s functions are working properly.
Lastly, we will staff a janitorial and maintenance worker beginning in year three so that the production area is always kept tidy. A clean work environment prevents accidents and machine malfunctions, reducing the company’s potential liability for on-site mishaps.

Lady GaGa at Opassa Grand Gala

Last Saturday at the 1st annual Opassa Grand Gala Lady GaGa stole the scene with a spectacular entrance on a cloud. As the guests made their way down the red carpet in their typical designer gowns, Lady GaGa descended from the heavens atop what she called “her magical puff of avant garde art”. Her outfit was equally impressive. Along with the cloud theme, she sported a flowing dress of while and real silver lace with a train as long as the person wearing it. Like a queen among her people, GaGa graced the red carpet with a fierce attitude in her signature monster claw wave. Also in attendance at the event were music names such as Alicia Keys, Britney Spears, Beyonce, Shakira, John Mayer, and Justin Bieber. Everyone was there to support the VH1 Save the Music Program to keep music in schools. Singing and dancing in time to Opassa’s new TrueBeat, the gala was a hit.
